TEK | ABOUT

Doug & Julie Glass and Mr. Verducci founders of Verducci Racing and Luigino Racing between 1997-2015 were the first to design a high-end nylon inline racing boot in 1999. The goal was to have a boot that could perform like carbon but be much more cost effective. Even back then they could see the direction of inline racing and the problematic cost of high-end equipment increasing at a rapid rate. Unfortunately, they were unable to bring the product to market as planned due to a partnership fallout. Another brand picked up where they left off and continue to successfully sell nylon inline race boots today. Over the course of the years it has become clear that nylon racing boots may not replace carbon at the very elite level for a few important reasons; rigidity, weight and mold-ability.

However, the significant savings in nylon vs carbon fiber by far outweighs the performance advantages! If you can have comfort, performance and quality for a fraction of what it cost for a pair of carbon inline boots that hurt and make it difficult to skate 20 miles or an hour at a time without adjusting your skates multiple times, molding them over and over or worse you just accept them for what they are because inline racing boots are supposed to hurt? It’s been said over and over “if they don’t hurt a little than they don’t fit right”. Well, TKO Racing says enough is enough…lets bring back comfort and affordability to the sport of inline racing.

Project – Make competitive inline skating affordable again!
Operation – making inline racing comfortable again!

TEK shells are a unique blend of nylon/glass composites. Through our development in the late 90’s we learned several advantages and disadvantages about nylon composite when being used for competitive inline racing.

Advantages:
• Price for synthetic/nylon composite materials is cost affective
• More control over materials, quality, consistency
• Through technical design and mold making you can have rigid and flexible shells combined into one part.
• By using molds you’re able to incorporate better ergonomics
• Nylon composite has forgiveness, substantially increasing comfort (with the correct design)
• Nylon conforms with or without heat.
• High rebound & hardness of nylon composite makes it reliable and virtually indestructible

Disadvantages:
• Nylon tends to be a little heavier (very little)
• Nylon is not as moldable as some carbon fiber/epoxy resin shells
• Upfront mold costs are expensive

HUVR | Contoured uppers
The only contoured inline upper on the market… HUVR.
Each boot has left and right, as does your foot.
Combined Savage Tek Shells with HUVR’s Contoured uppers and you have a racing boot that is comfortable, high-performance and stands up to the quality and standard of any race boot on the market.
